Finding Ways To Recharge

Employees share highlights from their summer

Everyone needs time to recharge. Whether it’s being with family, moments cherished with friends, or just time spent on what’s important to you – we all need it.  At the Together Tour event at the Ledge Amphitheater, employees shared the best things they did this summer to fill themselves up.

My highlight was going to the long-awaited stadium tour with Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Poison and Joan Jett. I waited two and a half years and finally got to go. One of the other exciting things about it is I was able to go with my daughter who’s 21, and she was just excited about it as I was!

Melissa Freese, RN, Director, Inpatient Rehab

The best part of my summer was going on a mini-vacation with my family to North Dakota, just to get away for a little bit and really spend a lot of good time together.

Heidi Blommel, HR Recruitment

The best thing I’ve done this summer is spend a lot of time at our lake camper up north. I tell you what, I relax when I go there. I sit on the porch and I read books or I sit in the sunshine, go out on the boat and fish. It’s a great place to relax and I don’t really have to do a lot of work when I’m up there so I just leave it all behind.

Melissa Pribyl, RN, Community Health and Wellness

The best thing this summer was being able to be outside and ride my bike. And just today I logged 150 miles on my bike for the month.

Richael Weinand, Care Coordination, Pediatrics

The best part of our summer was a 10-day travel and cruise to Alaska. We just got back a couple days ago and it was something to check off our bucket list. We saw a lot of wildlife and the glaciers in Glacier Bay and Hubbard Bay are amazing.

Mark Matthias, MD, Vice President Medical Affairs

The best part of my summer has been going to visit friends and family!

Marti Bundy, Volunteer, Infusion Center

The best part of my summer is that I have a new 100-year-old home and I have a new garden to play in. So that has been really fun to have a new canvas!

Karen Chatterton, Development Officer, Foundation

The best part of my summer was going to New York City to see my son. We went to the Bronx Zoo and we saw two musicals while there!

Carole Braun, RN, Coborn Cancer Center

One of my fun times was going to the EPCOT Center in Florida with my fabulous sister. Made connections everywhere! Plus got to see what all happens on our earth in many ways. I’m a people person so during COVID has been tough on me to not see everyone. I get giddy when I learn that someone is coming to visit the office that has been working remotely for awhile.
