Check out the latest improvements to Epic in the attached file:

  •  Population Health reviewed FY21 scorecard. Highlights include four months of upward trend in both Diabetes and Hypertension measures. We continue to have opportunity with Asthma, Immunizations, and Breast cancer screening. Strategies around focused improvement efforts are being discussed.
  •  The Clinical Practice committee approved the PVP guideline update on Colon cancer screening and lowering the age for screening to 45 years old. The PVP committee worked collaboratively with the preventative services committee to ensure their efforts are in sync. This topic is on the Clinical Decision Support committee agenda in August.
  •  Scott Rahm, MD and Rachael Lesch proposed to disband the CPC Asthma subcommittee and put together a project team with a focused purpose of reviewing guideline care for the system. This group would meet as needed to ensure guidelines are up to date. Other standard work opportunities would be a focus as well.
  •  Kathryn Duevel, MD Medical Director at Carris presented the Acute Ambulatory Opioid Prescribing guideline. The purpose of this guideline is to set a standard of care at CentraCare around safe opioid prescribing for acute pain in the outpatient setting. Dr. Duevel has been talking with various groups within CentraCare. The roll out date is set for July 26th.
