Opioid CME Requirement

The Minnesota legislature passed a law during the 2019 session requiring licensees with the authority to prescribe controlled substances to obtain at least two (2) hours of continuing education credit on best practices in prescribing opioids and controlled substances. Minnesota Statute §214.12, subd. 6.

Licensees are required to report completion of two continuing education credits between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2022.

CentraCare Live Education

Last fall, 250 CentraCare credentialed providers attended the first session.  A second session is scheduled following the St. Cloud Hospital Annual Meeting of the Medical Staff.  The session will be held as a WebEx only opportunity from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26th.  All credentialed medical staff at CentraCare and Carris Health will be sent an Outlook meeting request to their primary email address on file.  If you do not receive meeting request, please reach out to stcloudhospitalcme@centracare.com for assistance.
