E&M Fireside Chat: Potpourri of Topics
In the hopes you find our advanced learning about professional billing topics helpful, this quarter we will offer a handful of brief updates on multiple topics that impact a broad swath of our areas of practice. Please join us if you are wondering about any of the questions below.
Objectives
Identical content will be offered at each session. Clinical Partners need only attend one. At the conclusion of this presentation participants will:
- What needs to be documented to capture a Social Determinant of Health and what impact does it have on professional billing and other areas, most importantly, upon patient care?
- How can I access my own data about my billing patterns and understand how I am performing compared to my peers?
- What is the status of telehealth now that the public health emergency is officially discontinued?
- What exactly does one document and bill for a visit that deals with cerumen impaction, as the complete or partial focus?
- What is the impact of submitting my own charge for a visit if coding verifies it anyway? What is the new inpatient functionality for submitting a charge upon signing a note?
- What is the distinction between co-surgeon and assistant and how can I can be compliant with regulations in my practice with this language?
