Banded Together
Voices at the table are important
Craig Henneman
What did I learn about our teams? Resiliency. It was a two-year long cycle where staff picked up many extra shifts oftentimes outside of their department.
People worked long hours and sacrificed time away from family, not knowing when things are going to end.
Craig Henneman, Executive Director, Surgical Services
Their resiliency and banding together to do the work really unified not only specific sections, but the organization as a whole.
I also think about relationships and how we’ve banded together as a unified system and enterprise, working with all our regional partners. For me personally, having the chance to work with people that I never would have worked with in the past, and getting to know them on a professional and personal level are things I’ll never forget.
Voices at the table are important. Being mindful of that is important, no matter what project you’re working on. Whether it’s staff members or patients, being at the table together and having honest and transparent conversations are critical parts of the success that I felt we had at Incident Command. Continuing this approach will be part of our future success as an organization.
