Silver Linings
It was an amazing thing to behold.

Working through COVID was a situation where people could say, ‘I see what needs to be done. And I’m gonna do whatever I can to step up and take care of these people with my partners, and just do the right thing.’ It was an amazing thing to behold.

I feel very blessed, and I’m very honored to be in, as I view it, a vocation. COVID has been an awful experience, yet, the silver lining is seeing how our people came together.
I distinctly remember rounding up in the ICU and witnessing the moral distress and angst of a group of about 20 team members. One was a respiratory therapist who was literally brought to tears, because of a number of things, including being maltreated by a family. And I’ll never forget his peer, who was at the other end of the circle, 30 feet away. She walked through the circle and put her arm around him as he was sobbing. That’s not easy to do in front of a group of people, but that’s how heavy it was.
For me, seeing that support will always be one of the highlights that I’ll remember from this pandemic.
Amazing HERO story! Thank you for sharing with us.
