Tiffany Baune, RN

I chose nursing because it seemed like a profession with so many opportunities after four years of school. I was a single mom at the time and thought nursing would be a great way to support myself and my daughter. I’m so glad I did because it’s taken me in many different directions. I’ve worked in a nursing home, done home care, worked on the surgical care unit and now I’m in endoscopy. It’s all been great and I love learning something new every day from the people around me. Our patients inspire me too. Caring for patients on their worst day and seeing them so appreciative and positive reminds me to be that way too.

My parents instilled in me the importance of positive thinking at a young age. They encouraged me to set goals and not let anything hold me back. At one point, I had two kids under the age of two and I decided I wanted to go back to school to get my master’s degree. They simply asked how they could help. It meant a lot to me. They inspired me to focus on the good in life and I remember my dad always saying, “Make someone else’s day today!” Because when you focus your energy on helping others, it boosts your mood and mindset. So I try to look at all the positives and learn and grow from situations that are challenging.
